Wedding Craft Ideas for 2023: Glittery Stripe Teal Invitations

I once heard that a couple's invitations to their wedding should reflect their personalities. For a festive and fun couple, these glittery stripe teal invitations show off a flirty side not to be missed!

For this project, you will need:

- White cardstock greeting card base

- K&Company Twinkle Type Glittery Chipboard Letters in Teal (available in stores and online at Jordan Paper Arts)

- Krylon Easy Tack Repositionable Adhesive

- glitter which you can get in online glitter store

- Cardstock

- Ruler

- Krylon Short Cuts Aerosol Paint in Turquoise

- Gel pen in a teal color

- Scissors

- Elmer's glue stick

- Newspaper

Anytime you are using spray paints and adhesives within a project, it is always wise to work in an area that is well ventilated and covered with newspaper.

Lay your white cardstock greeting card base flat and open on your work area, cover side up. (You can also make your own greeting card base using white cardstock, however pre-made bases usually come with matching envelopes making the invitation process easier.) Spray Krylon Easy Tack Repositionable Adhesive to one piece of additional cardstock and lightly adhere the outside edge so that it is two inches into the card from the left. With the ruler, measure a one inch gap. Apply a second piece of cardstock to the greeting card base with adhesive. This should leave you with a one inch strip of exposed white greeting card only.

Spray the exposed area with two coats of Krylon Short Cuts Aerosol Paint in Turquoise. Dry for an hour before gently peeling off the cardstock templates.

Select two letters from the K  amp; Company Twinkle Type Glittery Chipboard Letters in Teal matching the couple's initials. Also select an " amp;" sign from the chipboard package. Adhere the chipboard letters to the bottom right corner of the card with Elmer's glue stick. Dry completely.

Using a piece of cardstock as a straight edge fill out the inside of the card with a gel pen in a teal color. Insert the bride and groom's names, location, time, date, etc. as you normally would with any invitation. Make a few or several for a larger wedding.

TIP: Add additional details as desired. Krylon makes a fabulous set of paint pens which can be used to outline the teal stripe in a lighter color, such as silver. Feel free to use additional chipboard pieces to create unique details in your wedding invitations. The cards are to reflect you and your significant other's personalities, so be creative!
