Sir Graves Ghastly Weekend—The 3-D Invisibles vs. 3D Robot Monster (1953)

Saturday, October 21 at 8:00 PM Tickets $10.00

Remember Saturday afternoons in the 1970s and early 1980s, watching Detroit horror movie host Sir Graves Ghastly crack wise in between segments of classic monster movies?

We do too. That’s why we are presenting The 3-D Invisibles vs. 3D Robot Monster as part of a weekend of old-fashioned Halloween horror. Bring the family—if you dare…

A rocking night of classic monster-infused fun. In the first half, Detroit’s legendary The 3-D Invisibles provide a live set (in undead costumes) of their self-described “Frankenstein-like fusion of early punk, Famous Monsters, 60s AM pop, 50s sci-fi and EC comics.”

After intermission, we screen the band’s all-time favorite monster movie, a 3D restoration of Robot Monster, in which the title character—basically a guy in a moth-eaten gorilla costume and diving helmet—gets distracted by love during his plot to annihilate Earth. We provide the anaglyph (red-blue) 3D glasses.
