A Tribute to Sir Graves Ghastly—Young Frankenstein
Friday, October 14th at 8:00PM Tickets $5.00
Our weekend tribute to TV horror movie host Sir Graves Ghastly and Frankenstein’s monster begins with Mel Brooks’s inspired 1974 spoof. Gene Wilder stars as the grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein (“It’s pronounced Fronkensteen”) who carries on the family legacy of creating a creature from dead body parts. With Marty Feldman, Madeline Kahn and Peter Boyle as the monster.
A Redford favorite, with a monster-related 35mm cartoon and trailers, projected before the film and at intermission. Plus hot dogs (frankenfurters) at the concession stand.
This parody was inspired by the famous Universal Pictures movies Frankenstein (1931) and Bride of Frankenstein (1935), which the Redford Theatre will screen on Saturday, October 15.
This weekend's tribute is presented through a generous endowment by the sons of Lawson Deming (Sir Graves).
