‘The Voice’ Star Laith Al-Saadi Tops Detroit Blues Celebration Lineup
February 23 Revue to Benefit Old Redford Arts Group
Ann Arbor’s Laith Al-Saadi — runner-up on NBC’s “The Voice” in 2016 — heads up an all-star Detroit Blues Celebration lineup on Saturday, February 23, at Detroit’s historic Old Redford Theatre. The benefit also features a host of top regional and local blues musicians, including Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Billy Davis, Harmonica Shah, the Bobby Murray Band, special guests Robert Bradley, Martin “Tino” Gross, and more.
The Detroit Blues Celebration comes with a community friendly price tag. Tickets are only $15 for the balcony; $20 for the main floor. In addition, patrons purchasing of one of 100 VIP Tickets priced at $150 each will be entered into a drawing for a custom Echopark Clarence Echocaster model guitar — a $3,500 value.
The lineup of artists includes:
• Laith Al-Saadi and his band, performing an authentic blend of blues, soul, and classic rock, including songs from his recent blues chart-topping release, “Real.”
• Harmonica Shah, jamming with a group that includes Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Billy Davis, plus veteran musicians Howard Glazer and Jon Reynolds.
• The Bobby Murray Band, led by the longtime Etta James’ guitarist and featuring a James’ tribute by vocalist Tosha Owens and additional vocals by Lenny Watkins. They’ll be joined by veteran Detroit singer/songwriter/recording artist Robert Bradley along with Tino Gross, a founding member of the Howling Diablos.
